ROCwiki has now become a highly-ranked site about Rochester, New York, but the intentional community behind it didn't just happen haphazardly.
Grasping multiple points of views and writing a fair and succinct story, though it may not be hard, is seldom easy. Ever since 6th grade when a reporter wrote a story i knew first hand, i realized stories in the paper can and often get facts and even entire gists wrong. On this story, i may not know all the viewpoints, but after following and reading Recent Changes for two years, and contributing a share of edits, new pages, and photos, i know many of them. Kudos to Lara Crigger for the effort and care to write a good story.
Update: After the article publishes, Robert Polyn adds a brief account to the wiki history, mostly to correct the article's bias toward MoinMoin and to emphasize his independent stream of contributions to the genesis.
